It was wonderful to attend the 2026 Montessori Australia National Conference in Brisbane and spend time with educators, leaders and organisations from across the Montessori community.
The conference provided an opportunity to reconnect, exchange ideas and reflect on the future of Montessori education in Australia.
Across the event, attendees heard from an impressive group of speakers, including Gavin McCormack, Dr Rebecca English, Dr Mark Williams OAM, Jessica Langford, Chris Peach, Jemina Villanueva-Vallee and Tim Seldin.
Each session brought a different perspective, from leadership, wellbeing and neuroscience to communicating the Montessori message and helping more families understand the value of Montessori education.
Just as valuable were the conversations between sessions.
It was inspiring to hear about the work happening within Montessori schools, the challenges educators are navigating and the passion they share for creating meaningful learning experiences for children.
Towards the end of the conference, EWS Director Michael Van Ho also had the opportunity to briefly speak about helping Montessori schools communicate what makes them different and connect with more prospective families.
Every Montessori school has its own story, community and approach. A strong online presence can help families better understand that story and decide whether the school may be the right fit for their child.
