Automated consent management, intelligent face protection and clearer publishing records. All connected to the way your school or organisation communicates. Join one of our upcoming launch webinars to learn more and see the feature in action.

Schools and organisations share images for all the right reasons: to celebrate achievement, strengthen community and keep people connected. But the environment around those images has changed. An image published today can be copied, scanned, altered by AI or shared far beyond its intended audience. At the same time, consent and personal circumstances can change.

This is why we’ve launched Hail Image Privacy. A connected approach to managing consent, protecting identities and responding when circumstances change.

Consent that keeps up

Consent should not remain trapped in an enrolment form, spreadsheet or administrative record. Hail can automate the distribution and renewal of consent requests to parents, caregivers, students, staff and community members. Responses are recorded in one place and connected with privacy controls and publishing decisions.

This helps schools and organisations keep permissions current, traceable and easier to apply whenever an image is prepared or shared.

Protect particular people

Our People Locker allows an organisation to upload and protect an individual whose image should not be publicly visible.

When that person appears in a new image, Hail can identify the match and automatically hide their face before the content is shared. This can help when a student, staff member or other person has specific privacy or safety requirements.

Reduce exposure on social media

Choose to hide all detected faces in content shared from Hail to Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn. When selected, images are shared with faces hidden, giving you control while Hail maintains a record of what has been published and where, allowing images to be found at a later date.

Go back in time

If someone’s circumstances change, the Time Machine scan can help locate where that person has previously appeared across Hail content.

A school or organisation can select the person and a date range to search newsletters, articles, website pages and social posts for possible image matches. Results can then be reviewed and appropriate action taken, including reducing exposure in light of emerging risks such as AI-driven image manipulation or deepfake creation.

Supporting-not replacing-good privacy practices

These powerful tools are designed to strengthen an organisation’s existing consent, privacy and safeguarding processes.

You remain responsible for ensuring they have an appropriate reason and authority to collect and publish images. Human review also remains important: image matching can assist people, but it should not replace sound judgement or established privacy procedures, especially in a world where AI can alter or fabricate visual content.

Continue sharing the stories that matter

Our goal is not to discourage schools from sharing positive news.

It is to give them better ways to manage images, respond when circumstances change, and protect the people at the centre of their stories in an era shaped by AI, deepfakes, and rapidly evolving digital risks.

Hail Image Privacy is being introduced to existing Hail customers, with guidance and support available from the Hail team.
