Research background
Stuart Dillon-Roberts has taken time away from the day-to-day running of Hail and Careerwise to undertake this research. To date, he has interviewed 40+ principals, association leads, privacy advocates, enforcement officials and child exploitation experts across New Zealand and Australia.
With growing expectations from parents and students and increasing risks from AI deepfakes, image manipulation, AI harvesting and online misuse, student image privacy is becoming an important safeguarding, privacy and governance issue for schools.
This survey will help identify the systems schools currently use, the pressure points they are experiencing, and the practical challenges they face. Results will be anonymised and used to identify common themes and opportunities for improvement.
